I was born and raised in South Africa. My dad is Italian and my mom South African. I grew up in the hospitality industry as my father owned a 5-star hotel in Cape Town. After moving to the USA, my father owned several restaurants in Laguna Beach and co-owned several others in the surrounding area. I worked my way through those businesses, and was trained by my father and Giuseppe Cefalu who had been the Executive Chef at the ClubMed in Greece. I opened my own catering company and was based at the Rancho San Clemente Tennis & Fitness Club for several years. I catered approximately 45 weddings per year as well as many other types of events. When the Tennis Club was sold to Lifetime Fitness, I took some time off and did in-home catering jobs for my private clients. I was asked by the GM at Shorecliffs to help out for a few months, and that was almost 3 years ago.
The new 501 Restaurant and Bar is beautiful and I am very proud of our staff for what they have accomplished in a short period of time.
The Shorecliffs owners and their executive team are amazing people, and I feel grateful for the trust they have placed in me.
